"We are watching": Kashmir Cyber police's stern warning on sharing hateful content online | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNO): The Cyber Police Kashmir has taken serious note of hateful sectarian content being circulated on social media platforms. The content, originally posted and later removed by an individual, has been downloaded and saved by certain malicious individuals, who are now sharing it with the intent to create unrest, officials said on Thursday. In a statement, issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Cyber police Kashmir said that it is closely monitoring the situation and have already identified several individuals involved in circulating the malicious content. It said that strict legal action is being taken against them. "This behavior will not be tolerated, and we caution all users against engaging in such activities." It said that several offenders have already been summoned to the Cyber police station, and appropriate legal proceedings are underway. "We urge everyone who has downloaded or shared this content to cease doing so immediately. Sharing hateful content, especially with sectarian undertones, is a serious offense and will invite strict punitive measures," it said. The police cautioned that all social media platforms are under active surveillance, and any individual found promoting or sharing such harmful content will face the full force of the law. "We are watching, and no violator will be spared."—(KNO)
